Police: Woman used counterfeit cash

GLEN – An Albany woman was charged with trying to make purchases with counterfeit money at an area gas station, authorities said.

Jennifer Jean Crawford, 28, of 369 First St., Albany, was arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on May 2 and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Authorities said in January 2013, Crawford was in possession of four counterfeit $100 bills at a Glen gas station and tried to make a purchase.

An arrest warrant was issued after an investigation by the sheriff’s office.

She was arraigned in Glen Town Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

Crawford is scheduled to reappear in Glen Town Court at a later date.
