H.S. Softball Roundup: Glens Falls defeats Broadalbin-Perth

BROADALBIN – Ali Battease went 3-for-4 with a triple to lead Glens Falls to a 7-5 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council softball game.

Ruby Caprood was 2-for-4 with a triple for the Indians, who improved to 8-6 overall and 7-3 in Foothills Council play.

Gabby Smith went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Broadalbin-Perth (1-8 overall, 1-7 Foothills), while Lauren Adamchick added a double.

MIDDLEBURGH – Emily Jenkins and Bailey Wood each had a double, a single and an RBI to lead Middleburgh to a Western Athletic Conference win over Fort Plain.

The Knights scored three times in the fifth and once in the sixth to break open a 2-2 game.

Fort Plain slipped to 5-8 overall and 5-6 in WAC play with the loss.

WELLS – Erika Foster hit a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Wells to a win over Elizabethtown-Lewis.

Sarah Darling had a three-run home run for the Lady Indians, while Chelsea Simmons earned the win in the circle.

DOLGEVILLE – Little Falls pounded out 23 hits on their way to a win over Dolgeville.

Kaitlyn Duesler was 3-for-6 for the Mounties, while Lauren Bennett was 4-for-5 with a double.

Kelli Shepardson was 5-for-6 with a double for Little Falls, while Amy Hart was 2-for-4 with a double.

Cheyenne Rivenburg was 2-for-3 for Little Falls, and Laura Wind had a single and a triple for the Mounties.

Amy Hart earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete-game one-hitter and striking out 13.

Dolgeville slipped to 0-9 overall and 0-6 in Center State Conference play with the loss.
