H.S. Baseball Roundup: Braves roll past Ichabod Crane

VALATIE – Fonda-Fultonville pounded out 20 hits on its way to a 16-1 win over Ichabod Crane in a Colonial Council baseball game Tuesday.

Zak Shaw went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for FFCS (8-4 overall, 5-4 Colonial), which had 11 players record at least one hit.

Anthony Sinicropi had three singles for the Braves, while Kevin Myers had a double, single and four RBIs.

Rob O’Kosky had two hits and two RBIs for Fonda-Fultonville, while Brandon Baker, Lucas Calkins and Pat Hart each had two hits.

Pierce Reilly had two singles for Ichabod Crane, while Andrew Plourde had a double and a single.

MIDDLEBURGH – Alex Bleichner had three singles, three RBIs and five runs scored to lead Fort Plain to a Western Athletic Conference win over Middleburgh.

Kiernan Briggs had a grand slam, two singles and six RBIs for the Hilltoppers, while Eric Orologio had a triple, single, two runs scored and an RBI.

Briggs also picked up his first varsity win on the mound, combining with Jacob Kennedy to throw a three-hitter.

Aiden VanLoan added a single, double, four runs scored and five RBIs for Fort Plain (10-0 overall, 9-0 WAC).

The win was the 706th for Fort Plain coach Craig Phillips, who is now tied with Eastchester’s Dom Cecere for the most in state history.

Asa Snyder had a single and two runs scored for Middleburgh.

BERNE – Scott Voelker had three hits and four RBIs to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Lions outscored the Bulldogs 10-0 over the final four innings to pull away for the victory.

AMSTERDAM – Julian Gallup pitched a complete game six-hitter to lead Amsterdam to a win over Christian Brothers Academy at Shuttleworth Park.

It was the first game for the Rams on the new Astroturf infield.

Gallup struck out eight, walked just one and needed just 84 pitches to earn the victory for the Rams, who have won eight of nine following an 0-3 start to improve to 8-4 overall and 6-4 in Big 10 play.

Kolbie Glionna had a two-run home run for Amsterdam in the bottom of the sixth.

Justin Decker struck out seven and allowed three hits in six innings of work for CBA. Decker and Brady Fallon each had two singles for CBA.

WELLS – Ben Brenan was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs to lead Wells to a win over Johnsburg.

Adrian Collado was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Indians, who improved to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference play.

Seth Weaver earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits, striking out 14 and walking three.

Jimmy Morris had a triple, single and an RBI for Johnsburg (1-3 overall, 1-2 MVAC), while Nate Prouty had a double and two runs scored.

Wells is scheduled to host Elizabethtown today at 4:30 p.m.

HERKIMER – Danny Fox pitched a three-hitter to lead Dolgeville to a win over Herkimer.

Fox struck out six and walked five on his way to the complete-game victory.

Alex Johnson and Reid Johnson each had two hits for Dolgeville (6-4 overall, 3-2 CSC), while Kacey Foster had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Devils. Dakota Walrath added two RBIs for Dolgeville.

Joe Aiello, Mike Ramsey and Zach Harrington had singles for Herkimer.
