Briggs wins four invitational events

MIDDLEBURGH – Mayfield/Northville’s Todd Briggs won four events Saturday at the annual Marsh-Galotta Track and Field Invitational at Middleburgh High School.

Briggs swept the hurdle events, winning the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.1 and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 59.7. Briggs topped the field in the long jump with a leap of 19-9 1/4 and the triple jump with a distance of 40-3 1/2.

The Mayfield/Northville boys placed fifth at the meet, while Fort Plain was 11th.

On the girls side Fort Plain finished seventh in the team standings and Mayfield/Northville finished 11th.
