Fonda-Fultonville sweeps doubleheader

FONDA – Fonda-Fultonville’s baseball team took to the road for double-header action Saturday.

The Braves opened with a 6-5 Colonial Council victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville, then traveled to Saratoga Springs and dealt Saratoga Catholic Central (7-1 overall, 7-0 WAC) its first loss of the season, 13-2, in a non-league contest.

Against Cobleskill-Richmondville, Pat Hart drove in two runs in the seventh to key the win.

Kevin Myers led the Braves’ hitters going 3 for 4 with a double, two singles and an RBI. Lucas Calkins was 2 for 4 with two singles and Anthony Sinicropi was 2 for 4 with stwo singles and an RBI.

Against Spa Catholic Zak Shaw went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a single and four RBIs. Myers collected three singles, while Rob O’Kosky added two singles and two RBIs and Hart was 2 for 3 with a double and a single.

Fonda-Fultonville improves to 7-4 overall and 4-4 against Colonial Council competition.
