Officials seek suspect in Dunkin’ Donuts robbery

JOHNSTOWN – Authorities are continuing the search for a person who robbed the Dunkin’ Donuts shop Wednesday night on Second Avenue Extension in the town of Johnstown.

The owner of the shop, Sarah Mustafa, said the robber had a gun, grabbed a Dunkin’ Donuts employee in the parking lot of the shop, forced her back into the store and emptied a money drawer.

Fulton County Sheriff Thomas Lorey said the robber came into the store at 10:14 p.m., displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The sheriff said an employee emptied the register into a bag and the suspect fled on foot.

Mustafa said she hasn’t been updated on the robbery as of this morning and the store has determined the suspect was able to get away with about $350.

No one was injured and no one was arrested as of this morning, Undersheriff Kevin Lenahan said.

Employees reported the robber was dressed in tan pants, a black hoodie and a full face mask, a news release said.

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident with the help of the Gloversville Police Department and state police.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 736-2100.
