Lull, DeVoe playing for SUNY Cobleskill

AURORA – The SUNY Cobleskill women’s softball team closed the regular season Monday by sweeping Wells College in North Eastern Athletic Conference action by scores of 8-0 and 8-3 to keep their quest for the NEAC North Division Championship intact.

With the victories, the Fighting Tigers conclude the regular season at 18-8 overall record including a NEAC record of 16-4, the best conference record in program history, while The Express falls to 1-17 overall with a 1-17 mark in league action.

In the first game, junior third baseman Julia Lull, a St. Johnsville graduate, was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs for Cobleskill

In the second game, freshman first baseman Jessica DeVoe, a Gloversville graduate, was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Johnstown graduate Lindsay Achzet had a single and an RBI for Wells in the second game.

Cobleskill will now await the seedings and site for the 2014 NEAC Championship Tournament which will be announced by the league Wednesday
