H.S. Baseball Roundup: Glens Falls tops Gloversville

QUEENSBURY – Dave Mauro had four singles and four RBIs to power Glens Falls to a 16-8 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council baseball game Tuesday at the Morse Athletic Complex.

The Indians scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth to break open a one-run game.

A.J. Weils had three singles, three RBIs and three runs scored for Glens Falls (7-3 overall, 5-3 Foothills), while Clark Wooley and Nolan Murphy each had two singles and two RBIs. Dylan O’Sick had three singles, two RBIs and three runs scored for the Indians, while Pat Burton scored three times.

Austin Luci had two singles and two RBIs for Gloversville (2-9 overall, 1-7 Foothills), while Ben Chase had a double and two RBIs. Sam Salvagni had a triple and an RBI for the Huskies.

Galway 5, Mayfield 4

GALWAY – Taylor Hartman plated the Tyler Goergen with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game, and Zach Hartman scored on a wild pitch to lift Galway to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mayfield.

Taylor Hartman had two hits for the Golden Eagles, while Goergen had a single and a double. Sam Uline added a double for Galway.

Jordan VanNostrand and Austin Lair each had two singles for Mayfield (3-6 overall, 3-6 WAC), while Colden Glover, Luke VanNostrand, Bobby Gates, Matt Messina and Alex Charbonneau each had singles.

VOORHEESVILLE – Baylee Hall threw a one-hitter to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a rain-shortened, five-inning win over Voorheesville.

Zak Shaw was a triple, single and two RBIs for the Braves, while Brandon Baker had three singles.

Lucas Calkins and Hall each had singles for FFCS (5-3 overall, 3-3 Colonial), while Rob O’Kosky added an RBI.

Mike Hennessy had the lone hit for Voorheesville (7-5 overall, 5-4 Colonial).

SCHENECTADY – Andrew Rouse had a triple and a double to lead Amsterdam to a win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

Ben Cranker had three singles for the Rams, who have won five of their last six games to improve to 5-4 overall and 4-4 in Big 10 play.

Brady McGillin and Kyle Sherlock each had a double and a single for Amsterdam.

Joe Dobkowski had two doubles for Bishop Gibbons.

DOLGEVILLE – Johann Doerrer struck out nine, walked one and allowed eight hits to lead Dolgeville to a win over Westmoreland on Monday.

Doerrer also was 2-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs for the Blue Devils, who posted their fourth straight win.

Darin Darling was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs for Dolgeville (5-3 overall), while Danny Fox had a double, single and two runs scored.

Alex Johnson and Reid Johnson each drew three walks and scored three runs for the Blue Devils, and Dakota Walrath was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

John Guy was 2-for-3 for Westmoreland, while Ryan Hogan had a single and an RBI.
