FMCC baseball splits doubleheader

JOHNSTOWN – The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team split a doubleheader with Schenectady County Community College on Monday.

FMCC won the first game, 4-1, before losing the second game, 7-0.

In the first game, Schenectady County’s Kody Shaw, a Fonda-Fultonville graduate, held the Raiders to just four hits.

However, the Raiders made the most of them and won the game 4-1. Christian Maldonado scattered seven hits for FMCC.

Gil Garcia had a single and a double for Schenectady County, while five other Royals had singles.

Greg Mosetti and Greg Ruddy each had two singles for FMCC.

In the second game, Schenectady County pitcher Justin Holmberg held the FMCC offense to just four hits.

Nico Church had a double, two singles, and a sacrifice fly for Schenectady County (13-12 overall, 8-8 Region III).

Four different players had single for FMCC (13-16 overall, 9-7 Region III).

FMCC is scheduled to host SUNY Adirondack today at 2 p.m. in a doubleheader.

The Raiders are scheduled to travel to Queensbury to face SUNY Adirondack on Thursday in a doublehader.
