Drunk woman had kids in Jeep: police

PRINCETOWN – A Gloversville woman was arrested Sunday for driving with two children while she was intoxicated, state police said.

Audray Lewis, 44, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (refusal): child passenger younger than 16, a felony; endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; and traffic violations.

Police said on Sunday, just after 5 a.m., troopers were patrolling Interstate 90 in the town when they pulled over a Jeep Liberty for an unsafe lane change. The operator, Lewis, was arrested after she was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Lewis was driving with her 4-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son in the vehicle, police said.

Lewis and her children were transported to the state police station in Fultonville. The two children were turned over to a family member, police said.

Lewis was arraigned in Scotia Village Court and sent to the Schenectady County Jail on $10,000 bail. She was scheduled to appear in Town Court for a preliminary hearing.
