H.S. Baseball Roundup: Gloversville slips past Broadalbin-Perth, 3-2

GLOVERSVILLE – Austin Luci and Ben Chase each finished with two hits to lead the Gloversville baseball team to a win over Broadalbin-Perth in the consolation game of the Gloversville Tournament on Saturday at Husky Field.

Zak Frazier, Anthony Oathout and Jordan Himpsl also had hits for Gloversville (2-7 overall).

Brett Getman, Connor Pingitore, Noah Martin, Tyler Schmidt and Jeremiah Horton each had hits for Broadalbin-Perth (2-7 overall).

The championship game between Fonda-Fultonville and Schuylerville was postponed with no make-up date set.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to host South Glens Falls on Monday at 4:30 p.m., while Gloversville is slated to host Glens Falls on Monday at 5 p.m.

Schalmont Tournament

Amsterdam 7, Scotia-Glenville 3

ROTTERDAM – Brian Cranker had two singles to help Amsterdam post a win over Scotia-Glenville in the opening round of the Schalmont Tournament.

Julian and Jared Gallup each had three stolen bases for the Rams, while Jonardy Anil had an RBI double. Matt Dagostino also doubled for Amsterdam.

Tony Isabel struck out four, walked two and allowed three hits in four innings for Amsterdam, while Kolbie Glionna allowing one hit, struck out one and walked on in three innings of relief.

Amsterdam improved to 3-4 overall with the win.

The Rams are scheduled to travel to Troy on Monday to face La Salle at 4:30 p.m. in a Big 10 contest.

Dolgeville 17, Old Forge 3

DOLGEVILLE – Darin Darling pitched a one-hitter to lead Dolgeville to a win over Old Forge on Friday.

Darling struck out eight and walked four in seven innings for the Blue Devils. Darling also had a single and two RBIs for Dolgeville.

Alex Johnson was 2-for-3 with three runs scored for Dolgeville (4-3 overall), while Kasey Foster was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs. Reid Johnson had a single and three runs scored for the Blue Devils, and Johann Doerrer had a triple, four runs scored and two RBIs.

Zack McGough had a double for Old Forge (0-1 overall).

Dolgeville is scheduled to host Westmoreland on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
