Amsterdam rolls past Notre Dame
AMSTERDAM – The Amsterdam Rams got a four-goal, three-assist performance from Corey Dybas as the Rams rolled past Notre Dame of Utica 16-1 Saturday at the Lynch Literacy Academy.
Jon Magaletti added three goals and an assist to Amsterdam’s scoring, while Tyler Nordby had two goals and an assist and Matt Fedullo netted two goals.
Anthony Yevoli, Luigi Iorio, Patrick Corcoran, Tim Stele and Teddy Piccioccia all scored goals, while Corcoran Kris Newell and Reid Perry added assists.
Dillon Smith and Mike Sollecito combined to record 10 saves in goal for the Rams.
“The defense did a tremendous job shutting down the Jugglers’ offense,” Amsterdam coach Paul Furman said. “They switched between man and zone concepts. The Utica offense could never get a hold of what the Amsterdam defense would be playing in.”
Amsterdam defeated Notre Dame 9-0 in their first meeting this season.
The Rams improved to 3-4 overall with the victory.
Amsterdam is scheduled to travel to Troy on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. contest.
