H.S. Baseball Roundup: Hart pitches Braves past Mechanicville

FONDA – Pat Hart pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a 14-2 win over Mechanicville in a Colonial Council baseball game Friday.

Hart struck out 13 in seven innings of work for the Braves.

Anthony Sinicropi was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs for FFCS (4-2 overall, 2-2 Colonial), while Kevin Myers and Lucas Calkins each had doubles.

Baylee Hall had a single and an RBI for the Braves, while Hart and Rob O’Kosky each had singles.

Nate Popiel was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Mechanicville (3-7 overall, 2-5 Colonial), while Nico Dumas added a single.

QUEENSBURY – Zack Parsons pitched a complete-game one-hitter to lead Queensbury to a win over Johnstown.

Parsons also had two hits and three RBIs for Queensbury (7-1 overall, 6-0 Foothills).

Ryan Flansburg added a double for the Spartans.

Dan Nellis had the lone hit for Johnstown (4-4 overall, 3-3 Foothills). Richie Lee pitched a five-hitter in the loss for the Sir Bills.

HUDSON FALLS – Jacob Lynch and Zach Schwartz each had two hits to lead Hudson Falls to a Foothills Council win over Gloversville.

The Tigers scored once in the bottom of the seventh to win the game after the Huskies tied the game at 5-5 with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Lynch had a triple and three RBIs for the Tigers, who picked up their first league win.

Zack Frazier was 2-for-4 for Gloversville (1-7 overall, 1-5 Foothills), while Ben Chase added a double. Anthony Oathout added two hits and an RBI for the Huskies.

GLENS FALLS – A.J. Weils had a single and an RBI to lead Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Luigi Magliocca had a double and an RBI for B-P, while Connor Pingitore and Noah Martin each went 2-for-3.

Jim May Jr. put down an RBI suicide squeeze in the bottom of the sixth for the Hilltoppers (7-0 overall, 6-0 WAC).

Ben Manna had two singles, a double and two RBIs for Galway (3-3 WAC), while Max Conti had two singles.

Fort Plain is scheduled to host Mayfield today at 11 a.m.

MIDDLEBURGH – Buck Anderson was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a triple to power Canajoharie to a win over Middleburgh.

Jace Fox was 3-for-5 with a triple and a double for the Cougars (4-3 overall, 3-3 WAC), while Zach Ruzkowski was 2-for-2 with a double.

Mike Weaver and Williams Miaski each had RBI singles for Middleburgh.

On Thursday, Canajoharie posted a 9-8 non-league win at Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Joe Winsman was 4-for-4 with two RBIs for the Cougars, while Buck Anderson had two hits, including the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the seventh. Fox was 2-for-3 with a double for Canajoharie.

Connor McCarthy was 3-for-4 for Cobleskill-Richmondville.

MAYFIELD – Dylan Lanza plated pinch runner Brian Graf with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Mayfield to a WAC win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lions scored four times in the top of the seventh to take a 14-13 lead before Mayfield rallied for the win.

Lanza, who finished with three singles, also earned the win on the mound for the Panthers (3-4 overall, 3-4 WAC).

Colden Glover had five singles for Mayfield, while Matt Messina had a double and a single. Austin Lair, Bobby Gates, Alex Colby and Alex Charbonneau each had singles for the Panthers.

Danny Gregory had a double and two singles for Mekeel Christian, while Tyler Guido had two singles. Rhein Zeronda added a triple for the Lions, while Jeremy Howard added a double.
