H.S. Softball Roundup: South Glens Falls routs B-P

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Amber Bourdeau went 4-for-4 with a triple and a home run to lead South Glens Falls past Broadalbin-Perth, 21-3, in a Foothills Council softball game Wednesday.

Bourdeau earned the win in the circle, allowing four hits and eight strikeouts.

Emily Sharpe was 4-for-4 with two doubles for the Bulldogs, while Brooke Snyder was 4-for-5 with four singles. Richele Block had a solo home run for South Glens Falls (4-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills).

Broadalbin-Perth slipped to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

MAYFIELD – Julie Hampton had three singles for Mayfield in a loss to Canajoharie.

Maria Messina, Megan Fraiser and Kiera Davis each had singles for the Lady Panthers, who slipped to 1-6 overall and 1-6 in WAC play with the loss.

Canajoharie improved to 4-2 overall and 4-2 in WAC play with the win.

Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 17, Fort Plain 2

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Leann Clark had three hits and four RBIs to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a win over Fort Plain.

It was the fifth straight win for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (6-2 overall, 6-1 WAC).

Marissa Nellis and Samantha Mumford each had two hits for the Lady Wolves.

Fort Plain slipped to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in WAC play with the loss.

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Lisa Orsini homered to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a WAC win over Galway.

Jocelyn Maher was 5-for-5 for the Saints (3-3 overall, 3-2 WAC), while Emily McCarty added a single, triple, home runs and seven RBIs.

Emily Zawisa had a triple and a double for Galway (4-2 WAC), while Haleigh Podrazik had a triple and a single. Rachel Reichard and Jessi Freebern each had a double and a single for the Golden Eagles, while Amber Schwab added a home run.
