Reginald A. Mannings

Reginald A. Mannings, age 94, of Johnstown passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Pineview Commons, Johnstown.

He was born on September 10, 1919, in Milton, Vermont, a son of the late Alfred Mannings and Rachael Kelsey Mannings.

Mr. Mannings attended Vermont Schools and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a Group Leader and Machine Operator with General Electric for 28 years. Reginald was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Johnstown. He was a member of the Bleecker Beagle Club. His hobbies included rabbit hunting, snowshoeing and gardening, especially tending to his morning glories.

He is survived by two daughters, Amelia Rendo of Gloversville and Carol Pilarinos of Rhode Island, one son, Rocco Bianchi and his wife, Margot of Wilmington, North Carolina; six grandchildren W. Todd Rendo, Brenden Rendo, Korey Rendo, Aaron Rendo, Nicole Bianchi, and Mary Lynn Leclair; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Reginald was predeceased by his wife Mary C. Erkenbrack Mannings who he married in 1949, and she passed on October 7, 2007; two brothers, Robert Mannings and Alden Mannings; two sisters Ellen Flynn and Ruby George; and one granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, April 28 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Johnstown with military honors.
