Board honors longtime employee

JOHNSTOWN – The Fulton County Board of Supervisors last week issued a proclamation recognizing former county Weights and Measures Department Director Neil Daley, who retired March 31 after 17 years of county service.

The county is searching for a replacement for Daley. He began serving as director of the one-man department in December 1996. The department is responsible for – under state regulations – the precise measures of such consumer items as gasoline at pumps and weight of goods on grocery store shelves.

“Neil demonstrated consistency and reliability in all facets of his duties,” the proclamation stated. “Neil was known for his work as a dedicated and conscientious public servant.”
