H.S. Baseball Roundup: South Glens Falls tops Gloversville

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Zach Ahrens had a hit and a run scored to lead South Glens Falls to a 4-1 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council baseball game Monday.

Nicholas Hutchins added a single and an RBI for the Bulldogs (3-5 overall, 1-4 Foothills).

Justin Putnam had a double for Gloversville (1-5 overall, 1-3 Foothills), while Anthony Oathout had a single and a run scored. Zach Frazier had an RBI sacrifice fly for the Huskies.

Gloversville is scheduled to host South Glens Falls on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

BROADALBIN – Brett Rodriguez had a home run, double and four RBIs to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Zack Parsons had a double, home run and three RBIs for the Spartans. Parsons also earned the win on the mound, striking out 11 and walking none through six innings of work. Joe Marasco finished 3-for-5 for Queensbury with a double and two RBIs.

Luigi Magliocca was 2-for-3 for Broadalbin-Perth (2-4 overall, 2-2 Foothills), while Connor Pingitore, Joe Zarecki and Riley Martin each had singles.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to travel to Queensbury on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
