Johnstown athletes earn all-star honors

JOHNSTOWN – Several Johnstown athletes were named all-stars during the winter sports season. Hope Cerasuolo was named a first-team Foothills Council all-star in girls basketball, while Brianne O’Rourke was named to the second team. Megan Anagnostopulos and Annie Stock earned honorable-mention status in girls basketball.

Sara Kosowicz was an alternate on the Section II team for the state alpine skiing championships, while Austin Riska (second team) and Jamal Vazquez (third team) were named Foothills Council all-stars in boys basketball.

Austin Brand and Ethan Hale were named first-team Foothills Council all-stars in wrestling, while Garrett Hadcock was named to the second team.

The bowling team had James Marshall, Morgan Ruggeri, Jay Hadcock, Alyssa Hadcock and Ben Empie named first-team all-stars. Josh Fuller was named honorable mention in bowling, while Logan Brandt earned the Sportsmanship Award.

In boys swimming, Tyler Askew was named a second-team Foothills Council all-star in the 500-yeard freestyle, while Trevor Askew was named a second-team all-star in the 100 breaststroke.

Tyler Askew also earned honorable mention in the 100 butterly and Trevor Askew was named honorable mention in the 200 individual medley.

Both Askews were part of the 200 medley relay team, along with Cameron Roten and Daeshan Buseck, which earned honorable mention status.
