FMCC, HVCC split weekend series

JOHNSTOWN – The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team split a weekend series with Hudson Valley Community College.

On Saturday, the Raiders won the opening game of doubleheader action at FMCC 13-11 and fell to the Vikings 8-4 in the second game.

On Sunday, the teams met again at HVCC with the Raiders again winning the opener 15-6 and dropping the night cap 13-12.

In Saturday’s doubleheader, Gloversville’s Greg Mosetti connected for three singles in the opener and two more in the night cap, while Chris Rockefeller, also of Gloversville, had three singles in the opening game.

James Waters added a home run and a single for the Raiders, while Greg Ruddy and Andrew Houser had a double and a single each.

On Sunday, Gloversville grad Alex Vickery blasted a grand slam in the opening game and went 4 for 4 with two RBI in the second.

FMCC (8-11 overall, 4-2 conference) hosts Jefferson Community College Tuesday at 2 p.m.
