Howard was a lifelong Perth resident. Howard was a 1953 graduate of the Perth Central School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He would often reminisce about his experiences while serving in the military.

Howard provided for his family, working for 33 years at General Electric in Schenectady as a welder in building 52 and building 320 until his retirement in 1996. Howard married Nancy (Richards) Forgette on May 20, 1960. Howard and Nancy simply enjoyed life together. They shared 49 years of marriage until the love of his life passed away on October 6, 2010. Nancy’s passing left a void that could not be filled by anyone or anything.

Howard was always quick with a joke and loved to have a good time. Whether it was a family gathering or catching up with friends, he really enjoyed the company of others. Howard was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. In earlier years, Howard enjoyed gardening, building crafts and working on other projects such as car repair or fixing other things. Howard was proficient with crossword puzzles and various word games.

Howard enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, “The Price is Right,” “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy” and listening to polka and classic country music. He enjoyed the nice weather and looked forward to sitting outside and taking a nap in the fresh air.

Howard was a dedicated, honest, hardworking family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. He will be sorely missed by all that had the privilege to know him. Howard was an example to his children and the lessons learned from him will never be forgotten.

Besides his wife and parents, Howard was pre-deceased in death by his brother Kenneth Forgette.
