H.S. Baseball Roundup: Galway wins opener, 17-7

GALWAY – Max Conti homered to lead Galway to a 17-7 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday.

Sam Uline had two doubles and two RBIs for the Golden Eagles (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Taylor Hartman had three RBIs.

Zach Hartman earned the win on the mound for Galway and also had three hits.

Maclin Norray had two hits for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).

DELANSON – Rhein Zeronda had an RBI double to help Mekeel Christian Academy to a win over Duanesburg.

Tyler Guido added an RBI single for the Lions.

Gabe Gentile struck out 17, but took the loss on the mound for Duanesburg.

Justin Epstein had a double, single and an RBI for the Eagles.

SCOTIA – Marty McCollum went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored to lead Scotia-Glenville to a win over South Glens Falls.

Dan Zeglen and Mike Borbee combined on a two hitter for the Tartans. Zeglen struck out six and walked three in four innings of work, while Borbee had four strikeouts and one walk in three innings.

Luke Mancini and Brett Sarnowski each had two hits and two RBIs for Scotia-Glenville (1-0 overall, 1-0 Foothills), while Nick Schaub and Nick Thomas each had doubles.
