H.S. Softball Roundup: Fort Plain edges Mayfield, 12-11

FORT PLAIN – Desiree Suits finished with a home run, three singles and two RBIs to lead Fort Plain to a 12-11 win over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference softball contest Wednesday.

Haley Kilmartin and Abby Boyer each had three hits for the Lady Hilltoppers. Kilmartin finished with three RBIs, while Boyer had two RBIs.

Shauna Cotton earned the win in the circle for Fort Plain (1-2 overall, 1-0 WAC), allowing eight hits, walking five and striking out two in six innings of work.

Mackenzie Biggers had four singles and three RBIs for Mayfield (0-2 overall, 0-2 WAC), while Maria Messina had two doubles and two RBIs. Kristina Auty finished with two singles and two RBIs for the Lady Panthers, while Sydney Benton, Caitlin Tomlinson, Megan Fraiser and Angelina Mannino each had singles.

Shelby Suits had two doubles and a single for Galway (2-0 overall, 2-0 WAC), while Rachel Reichard had a double and two singles. Amber Schwab and Emily Zawisa each had a double and a single for the Golden Eagles.

Kaitlyn Curvin had a double and a single for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (0-1 overall), while Michaela Horlacher had two singles.
