Ronald E Strauser

Mr Ronald E Strauser, 72, of Gloversville, passed away April 6, 2014, at Mountain Valley Hospice House with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 5, 1942, in Gloversville, the son of the late Raymond Strauser and Garnet Dutcher Madison Strauser. Ronald was educated in the Gloversville schools.

He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a faithful employee of the United States Postal Service for 32 years, the majority of those years as a letter carrier.

After his retirement he spent his time in North Carolina and Florida. Ronald loved spending time with his family. He also loved playing softball and was an avid Dodgers fan. He also enjoyed his time at the ocean fishing and beach combing.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Karen; brothers, Raymond and David Strauser; and sister, Marilyn Chatterton.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Strauser (Denne) of New York, NY; six children, Rick Strauser (Cynthia) of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Deborah and Denise Strauser, both of Johnstown and their mother, Marie Strauser of Johnstown, Michael Strauser (Heather) of Northville; and stepdaughters, Candace Gleaves (Russ) of Hope Falls NY and Michele Ambrosino of Thomasville, NC and their mother, Donna Strauser of Gloversville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8th, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
