CVS Caremark right to remove tobacco
I have to commend CVS Caremark for their bold decision to prioritize the health and well-being of our community by volunteering to stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products at all CVS pharmacy locations across the U.S. by October 2014. By supporting CVS Caremark, I can make a difference in my children’s exposure to tobacco advertising; advertising that occurs while my family is shopping in the store.
We all have a stake in reducing tobacco’s terrible toll. I am happy to say I will be supporting my local CVS as they transition to a tobacco-free retailer by making them my pharmacy of choice. I won’t have to worry about the messaging my children will be receiving while we shop there. It will be loud and clear: “Tobacco is bad!”
