Address all water issues

As thousands of area residents are aware, across the nation, federal flood insurance premiums were set to increase drastically. The reason politicians gave for the proposed increase was that taxpayers should not subsidize people who have chosen to live in flood-prone areas.

Fortunately, the rate increase has been delayed.

Meanwhile, some members of Congress want to spend billions of dollars building new dams to help drought-plagued areas in the West.

Excuse us, but why is it acceptable to use taxpayers’ money to help people without enough water – but not to assist those with too much?
