Police: Man found in truck bleeding
MAYFIELD – State police said a Broadalbin man was arrested Friday morning after a trooper found him bleeding from his forehead while sitting in a pickup truck that did not belong to him.
Alan C. Dunham, 59, was charged with snowmobiling while intoxicated, police said.
Police said Dunham consumed several alcoholic beverages before operating his snowmobile early Friday. When Dunham’s snowmobile ran out of gas in the middle of the Great Sacandaga Lake, police said, he took refuge from the cold weather in a pickup truck.
Police said Dunham told troopers he found the pickup truck unlocked near the Edinburg Marina. Asked to explain the blood on his forehead, police said, Dunham told the trooper he fell while walking in from the lake.
Police said Dunham refused field sobriety tests and admitted he knew he was drunk.
Dunham is scheduled to be arraigned in Edinburg Town Court on April 21.
