Now is a promising time

John F. Kennedy said; “Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures. And however undramatic the pursuit of peace, the pursuit must go on.”

We are living in a promising time when national and international conflict can be resolved by peaceful means. We now have workable channels to protect our freedoms and peacefully and progressively problem-solve national and global disputes like the one in Ukraine.

We have trade agreements, socio-economic incentives, boycotts, the European Union, U.N., World Court, and U.N. peacekeeping forces. War is, and hopefully should remain, an obsolete problem-solving option.

We now can have what Thomas Jefferson hoped for: “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations”
