Honor volunteers in area
As we approach National Volunteer Week, beginning April 6, we ask you to honor volunteers in Fulton County who tirelessly share their time and talent with those in need. This special week was designated by executive order by President Richard Nixon in 1974. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Service.”
The Fulton County Office for Aging is especially proud of all the volunteers who help us every day through many venues: delivering home-delivered meals; serving on volunteer advisory councils/boards; helping at the Senior Picnic; serving as volunteer ombudsmen; supporting the Senior Citizen’s Prom at Broadalbin-Perth Intermediate School; assisting people with health insurance options; chairing senior clubs and committees and more.
National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek ways to engage in their community. It’s about meeting our challenges not as isolated individuals, but as members of a community, with all of us working together. The Fulton County Office for Aging/Youth would like to take this opportunity to publicly say “thank you” to all who help us by supporting seniors and youth who live in Fulton County.
