Anthony V. Sena

Mr. Anthony V. “Tony” Sena, age 82, of Gloversville died Friday evening, March 21, 2014, at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. He had suffered from Lewy Body Dementia for several years.

Tony was born on December 6, 1931, in Gloversville, the son of the late Giacomo “Jack” and Clara Diana Sena. He was owner of Gloversville Palace Diner since 1973, where he had worked for a total of 68 years.

He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and a Life Member of Concordia Club. He was an all-sports fanatic, his favorite teams being the New York Yankees and Giants. He loved to go out dancing and spend time at his camp at Caroga Lake. He also enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

Tony is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Kenyon Sena of Gloversville; four children: Anthony Sena, Jr. (Tina), twins Richard Sena and Diane Sena, and Charles Sena, all of Gloversville; his siblings: Richard Sena (Antionette) of Gloversville, Charles Sena (Ann) of Texas and Grace D’Errico of Gloversville. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Jamie Sena, Kristina Sena and Cierra Phillips, all of Gloversville, and Vincent Sena of Orlando, Florida; two great-grandchildren: Jayden Torres and Gianna Marie Dimaio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, James Sena.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 24th, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville.

Interment will take place at a later date at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
