Lenamarie Loux

Lenamarie Loux, 56, of State Highway 29, Johnstown, died at home Wednesdy morning, March 12, 2014, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Gloversville on August 24, 1957, a daughter of Edward G. and Dorothy Kilmartin Sweet and was a 1975 graduate of Mayfield Central School. Lena was a lifelong area resident.

She was a certified nurse assistant and was last employed at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

Lena found great joy in the outdoors through camping, fishing, and hunting in the Adirondacks. She especially enjoyed spending time in Tupper Lake. Lena also loved attending garage sales and finding special treasures. Mostly, her greatest joy was spending time with family, friends, and her faithful canine, Princess.

Survivors include her fiance, David W. Horton, of Johnstown; her mother, Dorothy Sweet of Gloversville; two sons, Michael S. Bates (Cindy) of Gloversville and Scott E. Bates (Darci) of Mayfield; a daughter, Monica L. Loux (Joshua) of Johnstown; three brothers, Joseph Sweet (Linda) of Mayfield, David Sweet (Rita) of Chiefland, FL, and Daniel Sweet (Irene) of Amsterdam; six sisters, Rosemary Wager (Milton) of Meco, Robin Wager of Caroga Lake, Wendy Stewart (Michael King) of Hope Falls, Amy McGuire (Raymond) of Charleston, Becky Jones (Ronald) of Ballston Spa, and Linda Williams of Arthursdale, WV; four grandchildren, Shalene, Michael, Zachari, and Lillian; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 and Pine Street), Johnstown. A funeral service will be conducted at noon by the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady and final burial will be held in the spring at Wadsworth Cemetery in the town of Hope. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
