Woman charged with grand larceny

MAYFIELD – State police said a woman was arrested Thursday for spending part of another person’s tax return.

Susan K. Vitus, 38, of Mayfield was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and petit larceny.

Police said troopers received a complaint from a man who was expecting his 2013 state tax return in the form of a debit card. The man said he had been living with Vitus in town until February, but his mail was still being sent to that address.

An investigation revealed the debit card had been used twice for gas and at a bank on four occasions, police said.

Vitus was issued tickets and is scheduled to return to court.
