Deputies seek suspect in robbery

FULTONVILLE – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery, according to a news release.

According to a news release, deputies are investigating a robbery that took place Monday at about 12:55 a.m. at the AM Best truck stop on Riverside Drive in the village.

According to the release, the witness said the suspect displayed a knife and demanded the money in the register. According to Investigator Joseph P. Kilmartin, just under $1,000 was stolen from the register.

The suspect is described as a white male between 20 to 30 years old, medium build, wearing a two-tone gray jacket with a hoodie, gray sweat pants, a purple bandana covering his face and pink gloves.

“The witness described the suspect’s voice as geeky, not feminine and not manly,” the release said.

The suspect fled north across Riverside Drive, then between Dunkin Donuts and Poplars Motel.

Deputies were assisted by state police and a state police K-9, but were unable to locate the suspect.

“We are working on a couple of leads,” Kilmartin said this morning.
