Rabies clinic set for March 15
FONDA – There will be a rabies clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets from 9 a.m. to noon March 15 at the Mohawk Town Barn, 2 Park St.
State Public Health Law requires that all dogs, cats and domestic ferrets have the initial vaccinations administered against rabies no later than 4 months of age and stay up to date with the revaccinations, a news release said.
The revaccinations are required one year later and a booster shot every three years.
Pet owners should bring proof of their pet’s last rabies vaccination.
To assure the safety of other pets and people, dogs must be leashed. Cats and ferrets must be contained in a pet carrier or box when attending the rabies clinics, the news release said.
There is a $10 veterinarian administration fee for each rabies vaccine.
