Santiago, Franchi compete for Oneonta

BUFFALO – Amsterdam graduate Lucas Santiago and Canajoharie graduate Anthony Franchi competed for the SUNY Oneonta men’s swimming and diving team Feb. 20 to 22 at the SUNYAC Championships at Erie Community College.

Santiago was named to the all-conference second team after placing second in the 200-yard butterfly.

Franchi teamed with Kevin Flessa, Daniel Condon and John Rein to break the school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Santiago, Franchi, Colton Roe and Ryan Walsh combined to break the 400-yard freestyle relay school record.

Oneonta finished third in the team standings with 492 points.
