FMCC falls in title game
SYRACUSE – The Onondaga Community College Lady Lazers defeated Fulton-Montgomery Community College’s Lady Raiders 79-67 on Sunday to win the Region 3 women’s basketball championship.
Onondaga finished the season with a perfect 25-0 record in regional play and 29-4 overall.
FMCC finished the season 21-5 (21-3 in Division III competition).
The Lady Lazers took control of the game early by building a 19-9 lead.
The Lady Raiders won the championship of the eight-team Mountain Valley Conference and finished as runners-up in the 15-team Region 3.
Monae Abrams led the Lady Raiders with 24 points , while Kassandra Flowers finished with 18.
Lauren Roy led Onondaga to victory with 21 points.
Onondaga won the three-day regional tournament by defeating North Country 96-53, Schenectady 88-67, and FM 79-67.
Monae Abrams was selected to the all-tournament team for FMCC. She is joined by Jefferson Community College’s Alyssa Crosby, Schenectady County Community College’s Samantha Hall, Onondaga’s Lauren Roy and Kayla Kibling. Roy also was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

Generals repeat as Regional Champs
DELHI – Leading for only three minutes of Sunday’s Region III Championship game at Clark Field House at SUNY Delhi, the Herkimer Generals men’s basketball team made most of the final minutes of regulation, capturing their second- consecutive regional championship, defeating Clinton Community College, 81-75.
