Two injured in Perth crash

PERTH – State troopers are still investigating a motor-vehicle accident that sent two people to Albany Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries Friday night.

State police spokesman Mark Ceipel said David Bubniak, 54, of Broadalbin and John Firstiun, 35, of Hannacroix, Greene County, were sent to Albany Medical Center after a head-on collision on Route 30 around 10:30 p.m.

According to Ceipel, Bubniak was driving south on Route 30 and Firstiun was driving north. Firstiun crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with Bubniak, Ceipel said today.

Ceipel said Bubniak suffered from a fractured leg and broken ribs, while Firstiun suffered severe head trauma, Ceipel said.

Ceipel said the investigation is ongoing and no tickets had been issued as of this morning.
