Woman sentenced to state prison

JOHNSTOWN – A Gloversville woman arrested as part of several drug raids last summer was sentenced Thursday in Fulton County Court to 1 1/2 to three years in state prison.

Debra Hayes, 53, of East Eighth Avenue, Gloversville, was sentenced by Judge Polly A. Hoye as a second-felony offender. She pleaded guilty Dec. 19.

Hayes was arrested as part of a police crackdown in Fulton County on Aug. 22 that resulted in authorities arresting seven people on drug-related charges in raids in Gloversville and the town of Johnstown. Police at the time seized more than $4,000 worth of drugs and nearly $7,000 in cash.

Hayes had been charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

In other County Court cases Thursday before Hoye:

– Joseph Blaney, 28, of 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree criminal mischief, as part of a plea arrangement.

Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but he is expected to receive five years of probation and be assessed restitution of $848.90.

He was arrested Jan. 10 in Gloversville.

– Michael Bilili Jr., 29, of 315 Vandenburgh Point Road, Mayfield, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated as part of a plea arrangement.

Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but he is expected to receive five years of probation.

He was arrested March 21 in the town of Broadalbin.
