Fort Plain, Mayfield win WAC tourney
LATHAM – The Fort Plain boys and Mayfield girls won the team title at the Western Athletic Conference bowling championships Wednesday at Spare Time Latham.
Fort Plain won the boys title with a total of 2,588 pins, while Middleburgh was second with 2,492 pins. Berne-Knox-Westerlo (2,399) was third, Schoharie (2,392) was fourth, Saratoga Catholic (2,359) was fifth, Canajoharie (2,358) was sixth, Mayfield (2,238) was seventh and Duanesburg (1,936) was eighth.
Fort Plain’s Kyle Rodeo had the high game of 244, while Duanesburg’s Tyler Largeteau had the high series of 581.
In the girls tournament, Mayfield was first, Middleburgh was second and Canajoharie was third. Schoharie finished in fourth, Fort Plain was fifth and Berne-Knox-Westerlo was sixth.
Mayfield’s Carly Poyfair had the high game of 209, while Canajoharie’s Kiara Putnam has the high series with a 549.
