Dolgeville places 10th at tournament

SYRACUSE – The Dolgeville wrestling team finished 10th on Saturday at the Section II Division II (small-school) Championships at the SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College.

The Blue Devils finished with 64 points. South Jefferson won the team title with 132.5 points, while Mexico (123.5) was second and General Brown (109) was third.

Dolgeville’s Triston Engle reached the 170-pound final, where he dropped a 6-5 decision to Mexico’s Jacob Woolson. Engel finished his season with a 37-2 overall record.

Noah Handy was third at 120 pounds, posting a 16-10 win over Sherburne-Earlville’s Kevin Dunshee in the consolation finals. Handy finished his season with a 37-8 record.

Kasey Foster (182 pounds) also reached the consolation finals for Dolgeville, dropping a 3-2 decision to Port Byron’s Chris Pinckney. Foster finished the season 35-7.

Jon Handy (106), Justus Richardson (113), Stephen Gross (126), Ian Nagle (145) and Richard Lyon (160) also competed for the Blue Devils, but failed to place.
