Amsterdam boys second at sectionals
ALBANY – The Amsterdam boys indoor track and field team finished second at the Section II Division II Championships on Sunday at the University at Albany.
Izaiah Brown won the 300 meters and high jump for Amsterdam
Brown won the 300 meters with a time of 36.55 seconds and the high jump with a leap of 6-2.
Graveley (9.37 seconds) won the 55-meter hurdles for the Rams, while Julian Gallup won the long jump with a leap of 19-5 3/4.
Omahri Sturdivant won the triple jump with a leap of 42-10 3/4. He also was third in the long jump with a leap of 19-4.
Amsterdam also won the 4 x 400 relay, as the team of Brown, Graveley, Andrew Druziak and Gallup posted a time of 3:37.91.
Gabe Fernandez (1:34.37) was sixth in the 600 meters, while Lucas Dorr (6.87 seconds) was second in the 55-meter dash
Jose Perez was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-4.
Amsterdam also was third in the 4 x 200 relay and fifth in the 4 x 800 relay.
In the girls meet, Amsterdam finished with four points to place 11th in the team standings.
Burnt HIlls-Ballston Lake won the team title with 148 points, while Niskayuna was second with 84 points and Columbia was third with 82 points.
Olivia Lazarou was fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:13.24, while Illenis Quinones was sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 111:45.64.
Amsterdam also was sixth in the 4 x 800 meter relay.
