FMCC women defeat Herkimer

HERKIMER – Monae Abrams finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, powering the Fulton-County Community College women’s basketball team to a 82-68 win over Herkimer County Community College in a Mountain Valley Conference game Thursday.

Sherice Gayle scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Lady Raiders, while Stephanie Rice had 11 points and eight steals. Kassandra Flowers added seven points and nine assists for FMCC, while Veronica Chea and Jessica Woney each had eight points.

Korey Bunal and Emily Rexford each finished with 13 points for Herkimer (9-11 overall, 5-6 MVC), while Shahadah Williams scored 12 points. Samantha Randio added 10 points for the Generals, while Fonda-Fultonville graduate Alyssa Craig had eight points for Herkimer.

FMCC (16-3 overall, 9-1 Mountain Valley Conference) will host Mohawk Valley on Sunday at 1 p.m.
