Johnstown teen faces burglary charge
GLOVERSVILLE – A Johnstown teen was arrested Monday after he broke into a home on West Fulton Street, city police said.
Jacob T. Beddow, 17, of 104 Glebe St., Johnstown, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police said Beddow was arrested after a report of a home invasion in progress at 372 W. Fulton St.
Police said rhe victims contacted police after awaking to strange sounds coming from inside the home. Police said one of the homeowners, who was sleeping on a living room couch, awoke to find Beddow standing over him.
Police said when Beddow was confronted he fled from the home on foot, but was located near the scene attempting to hide in a vehicle belonging to a neighbor.
Police said a search of the teenager found he had personal property taken from both the victim’s vehicle and home.
Beddow was taken into custody and transported to the station where he was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail.
