Outhouse Race set for Caroga Lake

CAROGA-The second annual Caroga Lake Outhouse Race is set for Feb. 16, with 16 teams already signed up.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. off East Shore Road on West Caroga Lake

According to Greta Frasier, who is putting on the event, teams from Pine Lake Stoves, the Wheelerville Union-Free School and the Gloversville Police Benevolent Association are among the 16 already registered teams.

Teams must have five people, with four pulling or pushing and one riding. The rider must have reading material and a roll of toilet paper. The outhouse itself must be on two skis and have a scale of 4-feet wide by 4-feet long by 8-feet tall, with three walls. The outhouse that travels 500 yards with the best time wins.

Teams that wish to participate can sign up the day of the event.

Hot chocolate and concessions will be available.
