Heroth earns academic honors

EASTON, Mass. – Four Assumption College student-athletes have been selected to the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Teams, as selected by a committee of administrators, athletic communications directors and faculty athletic representatives from the league’s 15 member schools.

In total, 91 student-athletes were honored across the league.

Among those selected was junior field hockey midfielder Abigail Heroth, a Johnstown graduate.

Heroth was named academic all-conference selection for the second straight season.

Heroth, who was named as a 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division II Scholar of Distinction, was also named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division II Collegiate National Academic Squad. Appearing in 18 games as a midfielder, she started the final six games of the season and registered an assist vs. Saint Anselm on Senior Day. In the fall of 2013, Heroth earned the Assumption College Premier Student-Athlete Award for a perfect 4.0 GPA.

In addition, she is a four-time recipient of the Assumption College Student-Athlete Director’s Citation.

A biotechnology and molecular biology major, she currently holds a 3.93 overall GPA.
