Girls Basketball Roundup: Mayfield slips past Saratoga Catholic, 36-34

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Julie Hampton scored 12 points, leading Mayfield to a 36-34 win over Saratoga Central Catholic in a Western Athletic Conference North Division girls basketball game Thursday.

The Lady Panthers, who lost 45-37 to Saratoga Catholic at home Tuesday, led 25-21 after three quarters before holding off a late charge by the Saints.

Kaylee Bumpus finished with 10 points for Mayfield (8-8 overall, 6-5 WAC North)

Emma VanDeCar scored six of her 11 points in the fourth quarter for Saratoga Catholic (5-7 WAC North).

CROWN POINT – Amanda Wolf finished with 10 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks to lead Crown Point to a win over Wells.

Brittany Foote scored 14 points for the Panthers, while Logan Harrington added eight.

Crown Point led 13-6 at the half before outscoring the Lady Indians 30-3 after the break.

Chelsea Kennedy scored four points to lead Wells (0-10 overall, 0-10 NBL).

Last Friday, Wells lost 45-12 at Ticonderoga.

Delaney Hughes scored 18 points to lead the Sentinels, who led 20-8 at the half on their way to the win.

Kaeli Brenan scored eight points to pace Wells, which is scheduled to travel to Keene today fror a 6:30 p.m. contest.
