Sheriff: Four face burglary charges
MAYFIELD – Four suspects were charged in a burglary ring recently broken up in the town, Fulton County Sheriff Thomas Lorey reported Tuesday.
Lorey said deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a town residence at about 7:45 p.m. Jan. 17. He said an investigation revealed an occupied dwelling had been entered and that several subjects had fled the house into a wooded area. A K-9 deputy was called in and Tiffany Ford, 20, of Schenectady was apprehended a short distance away.
The sheriff said further investigation conducted by members of the sheriff’s office and state police revealed Ford was part of a burglary ring that was operating in the area. Also charged by the sheriff’s office was Eric Ford, 18, also of Schenectady.
Lorey said two other individuals, also from Schenectady, were charged by the state police. They were James Gleason, 16, and Christopher Polomie, 22.
All the suspects were charged with various counts of burglary for incidents that happened in Fulton, Hamilton and Schenectady counties, Lorey said.
He said the group is believed to be responsible for nearly 20 burglaries in the three counties. The group was all held pending further action by grand juries of the counties involved.
