Weather advisory issued for area

The National Weather Service in Albany issued a winter weather advisory due to snowfall that could make travel difficult, a news release said.

The advisory – which includes Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton counties – is in effect today from 1 a.m. to 10 p.m. From 2 inches to 6 inches of snow may accumulate in most areas today; the western Mohawk Valley and the Western Adirondacks could see up to 8 inches.

Falling and blowing snow could cause low visibility, and snow covered roads could make travel hazardous, the release said.
