Thanks to all who improve local area

Over the “holiday break,” I attended one of the basketball games in the Christmas tournament. It was nice to see all of the fans, coaches and teachers at Gloversville High School there to support our players. As a graduate of GHS, I’d like to take the time to personally thank all the teachers, counselors and ancillary staff who provided a nurturing environment for all students, then and now.

I also was reminded of the need to acknowledge the people in our community who strive to improve the quality of life in Gloversville.

We need to be thankful to all the businessmen and businesswomen, law-enforcement officers, firefighters, clergy, public workers, judges, lawyers, doctors, dentists, teachers, hospital workers, nurses, and any others who may have been omitted, for their hard work and dedication to the betterment of Gloversville and Fulton County. I, for one, continue to express that I am proud to be from Gloversville, N.Y., and here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
