Deputies: Women stole merchandise

AMSTERDAM – Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies said two women were arrested Wednesday for stealing merchandise from the Alpin Haus store on Route 30.

Aisha M. Pounds, 21, of Niskayuna, and Raquel Cridelle, 18, of Schenectady, were charged with petit larceny.

Deputies said the two entered the store Jan. 9 and were looking at the displays with North Face jackets and Ugg boots. According to deputies, after a short amount of time, both women left the store with North Face and Ugg merchandise. The store’s security alarms were activated, and the women fled in a dark-colored vehicle, deputies said.

Deputies said Alpin Haus posted a picture of the two women on its Facebook page, which generated leads that led to Pounds and Cridelle being charged.

Both women are scheduled to return to Town Court at a later date.
