Police: Man charged after family incident

GLOVERSVILLE – A man was arrested by city police Saturday after an alleged family offense where police said he punched a woman in the face, struck a child’s head on a cupboard and then attempted to flee police.

Anthony A. LaMondie, 23, of 52 S. Judson St., was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, third-degree attempted assault and second-degree harassment.

Police said they encountered LaMondie and a woman on the scene. The woman said LaMondie had punched her in the face and struck the child’s head on a cupboard.

LaMondie struggled with police while they tried to arrest him, and fled the apartment and ran into the street, police said. He fought with them again after he was caught and taken into custody, police said.

He was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
